Quarterly Meeting Minutes 

Feb 7, 2005

In attendance:

Meeting was called to order by Bob Eppley at 10:15 am, who chaired the meeting. 

 

Bob offered the minutes from the previous quarterly meeting held Date for discussion.  Motion to accept minutes as presented made by Meade/Phillips  .  Motion passed.

 

Greg gave the treasurer’s report.  Motion to accept the treasurer’s report by Beck/Meade passed.

 

Bruce Golden gave Regional Coordinator’s report.

 

Deb Simko gave Regional Coordinator’s report.

 

Among the various comments made:

 

  • Dave Steele suggested that there needs to be a Watershed Group “Survival Guide”, referring to the increasingly difficult restrictions being placed on grants and a perception that all watershed groups should be “sustainable”.

 

  • Jim Ecenrode was concerned that OM&R of passive was not getting the proper attention by DEP regarding the amount of resources devoted to it.

 

  • Dennis Hawley suggested a workshop he given on OM&R.

 

  • Dave Steele suggested a workshop “Partnerships 101” outlining ways that organizations might partner with federal and state agencies.    

 

Motion made by Meade/Zosch as follows:  WPCAMR will take action on concerns stemming from the current requirement that all Growing Greener grant applications have a match of at least 15%.  The actions to be performed may include informing grass roots organizations, conservation districts, DEP, and legislators of the potential adverse affects the requirement may place on reclamation efforts, watershed organizations, and the watershed movement. Motion passed.

 

On a motion by Meade/Phillips , the meeting was adjourned.
